Learn directly from Australian manufacturers

National Manufacturing Week (NMW 2019) will bring the manufacturing community together to be inspired and connect, across four days from May 14 to 17 in Melbourne.

AMGC is proud to be involved in the exciting line-up of events boasted by the NMW 2019 program.

The launch of AMGC’s Manufacturing Academy

AMGC will launch its new Manufacturing Academy at NMW 2019.

Designed to deliver exclusive industry insights on how to increase commercialisation and capitalise on innovation, the Manufacturing Academy offers industry over 500 pages of in-depth research, interviews with more than 20 Australian manufacturers, and over 50 hours of video content, distilled into five inspirational, informative modules.

The Manufacturing Academy will enable Australian manufacturers to hear directly from other Australian manufacturers. AMGC has concentrated its research insights, supported by tangible evidence of project examples, into a concise, easily digestible format. Australian manufacturers can delve into real-world examples and discover— from their peers—what has delivered successful commercialisation and innovation outcomes.

Australian manufacturers will learn how others have found success, why their process works, and how to begin incorporating similar processes within their own business.

AMGC’s Innovation Stories Series

In addition to launching the AMGC Manufacturing Academy, Jens Goennemann (Managing Director, AMGC) will open NMW 2019, and have the pleasure of introducing keynote speaker, Dr Alan Finkel AO, Australia’s Chief Scientist.

Day one of NMW 2019 will feature the AMGC’s Innovation Stories Series in the Industry 4.0 Theatre. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Australian manufacturers as they share their success stories in research and development, international engagement, collaboration, commercialisation, product diversification and more.

Our panellists will include:

  • Monique Filer (CEO, box) who—in just ten years—turned a clever idea into a global brand with customers from every continent, and a loyal fanbase of parents and kids all over the world.
  • Dr Matt Dingle (Managing Director, FormFlow) who developed a patented process for bending corrugated metal sheets which, because of its technical leadership, has the potential to realise new market opportunities in the $1 billion per annum global sheet metal market.
  • Michelle Gee (Professor of Aerospace Engineering and at RMIT University) who leads multidisciplinary research, education and workforce training for the aerospace and defence industry.
  • Dr Roger Lumley (Senior Technical Specialist, AW Bell) who recently led a team that won the Australian Industry Research Group Medal for the development and commercialisation of advanced metal-casting technologies, now utilised in the F35 Joint Strike Fighter.
