AMGC strengthens its Board with appointment of new director
AMGC is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Palmer to its Board of Directors.
With over 25 years’ experience in senior executive positions, Richard brings strong leadership skills, governance expertise, and commercial acumen to AMGC’s Board of Directors. Richard’s financial expertise is the perfect complement to the existing team’s experience in engineering, manufacturing and technology innovation.
A private equity professional, Richard has a solid track record in adding value to organisations across the manufacturing, finance, insurance, telecoms, and IT sectors. He has built and managed numerous venture capital funds in Australia, Europe and New Zealand, raising and overseeing funds worth over $500 million.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws and an MBA and is the Chairman of business mentoring organisation The Executive Connection.
A Dynamic, Focussed Board of Directors
Richard joins a dynamic, focussed Board of Directors that possesses the diverse, high-level talent required to best support AMGC’s members and deliver on the organisation’s strategic goals.
AMGC’s Chairman, Paul Cooper, has over 25 years’ manufacturing experience as owner and Executive Chair of Rinstrum, an industrial electronics manufacturers. Rinstrum is based in Brisbane and actively exports to global markets with subsidiaries in the United States, Germany, India and Sri Lanka. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Michelle Shi-Verdaasdonk was appointed to the AMGC Board in 2018 and brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Currently the Global Manufacturing and Procurement Director at Dyson, Michelle held management positions at Philips Lighting, PepsiCo, Ford Motor Company and Electrolux. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering, a Bachelor of Aviation Science, and a Masters’ of Engineering.
Dr Jens Goennemann has been Managing Director of AMGC since 2016. With extensive experience overseeing large manufacturing operations in Australia and Europe, Jens served as Managing Director of Airbus Group Australia Pacific and Airbus Helicopters prior to joining AMGC. He has held positions at the former European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (today known as Airbus Group), the Eurofighter Office of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace, and Daimler-Benz AG. Jens holds a Bachelor of Business, a Masters’ of Economics, and a PhD.
Sarah Boase is AMGC’s Company Secretary. Sarah joined AMGC in 2016 and oversees all Board activities and company administration. Sarah previously worked for Airbus Group Australia Pacific and held a board position at Safeskies Australia. Sarah is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
