Australian Manufacturing: Key Focus of Industry Roundtable Led by Federal Independent, Dai Le
Australian manufacturing is top priority for Federal Member for Fowler, Independent Dai Le, who recently hosted an industry roundtable to uncover the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
The roundtable brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including small- and medium-sized manufacturers across food and beverage, packaging, engineering, fabrication, and infrastructure sectors. Representatives from industry bodies, research institutions, and government agencies also participated, contributing to a rich discussion on how to unlock growth and overcome obstacles in local manufacturing.
Key topics of discussion included ongoing supply chain disruptions, rising operational costs, talent shortages, and growing competition in both domestic and international markets. A central aim of the roundtable was to identify practical solutions to these challenges and to help strengthen Australia’s manufacturing capability.
Representing the 40,000 small- and medium-sized manufacturers across the country, the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC) shared valuable insights into both the opportunities for expansion and the barriers that hinder progress.
In closing, Dai Le affirmed her commitment to advocating for meaningful government support to strengthen Australia’s manufacturing industry. She highlighted potential measures such as financial incentives and tax rebates aimed at boosting competitiveness for small and medium-sized businesses.
