Our Projects

Plastic free compostable wet wipes

Project description and overview:

This project will see the commissioning of an automated wet wipe conversion and packaging plant to Industry 4.0 standards, to produce plastic free compostable wet wipes at a lower price than imports. This plant will be the first of its kind in Australasia with a capacity to provide plastic free wet wipes in soft packs, canisters and bulk rolls.

This project overcomes the current problem of imported plastic wet wipe usage contributing to significant tonnage of hazardous environmental plastic waste and greenhouse gas emissions, with a locally manufactured clean green product solution that is significantly less carbon intensive than plastic imported wet wipes.

The Hygiene Co. has created a plan to develop a standalone manufacturing capability that captures the growing demand for Australian made clean green products, tapping into the appetite of corporate responsible buyers, government buyers and consumers, towards green friendly preferences.

The proposed solution reduces the reliance upon imported wet wipes, offering an abundance of benefits for industry to reduce plastic landfill and greenhouse gas emissions with a purpose-built facility.
