Project description and overview:

Northern Glass Solutions (NGS) is establishing a unique new advanced glass manufacturing facility dedicated to using highly automated production lines with cutting-edge technology, which can produce the latest technology glass products not currently manufactured in the Northern Territory (NT).

This project seeks to establish a completely automated advanced glass manufacturing line capable of producing a wide range of special-purpose and energy-efficient glass products. This project will develop the local skills and capability to manufacture and supply high-quality and innovative glass products to meet the demand of the construction industry in the NT, Northern Australia, and for export to nearby Pacific Islands or Asian countries.

By establishing this capability in the NT, NGS can offer a diverse portfolio of specialised glass solutions, including toughened laminated glass, fire-resistant glass, soundproof glass, energy-efficient glass, and even more advanced options like quadruple-glazing. Localising glass production capability will not only reduce the importing of glass products both nationally and overseas, but it will also reduce transportation costs, product damage and supply lead time while also opening the NT up to new markets.
